LOL: The day Faker was a reserve at SKT for not knowing how to play from Azir

FAKER

It may seem like a bad joke, but there was a time when Faker went to the SKT bank (current T1) for not knowing how to make the most of his current League of Legends emblematic champions: Air, the Emperor of the sands.

This happened in 2015, when LOL's goal changed dramatically. The killers were predominant in the game so far, something that totally disappeared in favor of control wizards. Among them, Air resurfaced as one of the best options for playing in Summoner's Rift, which made Faker stay in the reserve in matches where the Emperor of the sands was used, since at that time the medium was not yet adapted to Champion's game style.

Fashion, SKT's substitute means, was a born expert with Air, so for a while SKT chose to use the player in place of Faker in the starting quintet in some games. To contextualize, Air appeared on the official League of Legends server in September 2014, so he did not appear at that year's Worlds, and only in 2015 made his first appearances in major international alloys.

Faker took it to the personal side and worked to be the best air in the world

Like Michael Jordan in The Last Dance documentary, Faker took the fact that he was in reserve to the personal side and redoubled his efforts to change this situation and not need Fashion to replace him in any match that SKT needed to play with Air or others control wizards.

To do this, he played over 130 ranked matches with this character until he dominated him and make the most of the character. After this intensive training, Faker was more than ready to show the world his Air in an official match, something he was able to do against Box Tigers. The result, however, was not expected, and the debate about Faker being a starter or not when the team had to use Air lasted for some time, including SKT winning a Lack Spring at that time with the middle being a supportive, something absolutely unusual in the player's career.

2015: A final that changed the story of Faker

The LCK Summer 2015 final changed the course of history. Faker demonstrated why he is considered the greatest LOL player in history, and with three major performances, one of them with Air, he beat KT Roster being the great protagonist of the final. At that year's World Cup, Faker again shone and won the second of his three world titles in LOL.

The following season, Fashion sought new challenges by transferring to Chinese Vice Gaming, and recognized, to some extent, that Faker's shadow was very large it would be practically impossible to compete against one against him, despite the sacrifices he made for the team: I'm not leaving SKT because of my companions or coaching staff. The reason came after the World Cup semifinals. I had the opportunity to play two maps against Origin, and thought of playing the third, but Faker was the starter. I left the stage and Faker came on stage, everyone shouted his name.
