Overwatch 2 will have a beta closed next month

Activision Blizzard has announced a closed beta of Overwatch 2, as well as the inclusion of a new hero in the game.

In a development diary published yesterday, Director Aaron Keller explained that "daily tests and feedback have given us the confidence of knowing that we are creating something that you will love."

This closed beta will be held at the end of April and will be open to both employees of the American company and players of the Overwatch League, "to be ready for the next season." Players who want to participate in it can sign up on the official website.

Keller has also assured that "we want to thank our players with their continued support, we recognize that we have not communicated well, we have not had you up to date and, the truth, we have disappointed you with regard to the development of the content of overwatch."

And this will mean important changes, because "based on your feedback we have repeated Overwatch 2, with the aim of making sure that it is a live game, giving our players exciting on a regular basis." This has caused Blizzard to have decided to separate the PVP element from traditional PVP, and will allow players to try overwatch 2 before planning.

"After the first closed beta we are planning more PVP public tests," Keller said, "with new features, new maps and yes, new heroes".

Overwatch 2 was delayed last November until 2023, along with Diablo IV. At first it will have versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X / S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.
