Silver in the spear throw: Frances Herrmann also celebrates in Tokyo
The 32-year-old threw in the class F34 with 17.72 m season testing performance and secured the silver medal. Overall, the Cottbuser sitting in the wheelchair took her third precious metal at Paralympics. In 2008 she had won silver with the discus, 2016 in Rio Bronze with the spear. Herrmann was beaten in the sitting class only by the victorious Chinese Lijuan Zou (22:20). For Herrmann, it was the tenth medal at World and European Championships or Paralympics and the greatest success since silver in the discus in the 2008 games.
