HALF-LIFE: ALYX would have 1-2 million owners on stea

Demi-life: Alyx would have sold 1 to 2 million copies on Steam, according to Steam Spy.

The reported data indicate that the game, one of the most ambitious titles available for virtual reality devices, currently has one to two million owners on Steam.

Valve has not disclosed sales data. Although this is not official, Steam Spy is at least useful in determining the success of the initiative.

Steam Spy is an automatic service that collects data from STEAM user profiles based on the valve web API, and which makes it difficult to inaccurate.

With the launch of the game in March, it was thought that the requirement of a virtual reality helmet would hurt sales, but it does not seem to be the case.

Users have tried and found ways to play it without these helmets, and maybe mods like this one convinced players to buy it even if they have no steam VR device.

Despite the disturbances of CVIV-19 production, Valve Index has experienced a sharp increase in sales through the launch of the title, the last entry into a well-loved and long-awaited franchise.

For the moment, demi-life: alyx is a PC exclusivity, but valve did not exclude a version for PlayStation VR sooner or later, which would further strengthen its user base.
